Mode Benefit Marathon News
A brief intro and thanksupdated November 19, 2009 I am amazed at the good will shown toward Mode Records for this Benefit event. From the generosity of the musicians and the Abrons Arts Center to the generosity of the businesses that are donating goods to the event. As it turns out, the Abrons Arts Center is an appropriate venue for this Benefit because in the early 1950s John Cage worked there when the Henry Street Settlement, of which the Abrons is a part, was under the direction of the choreographer Alwin Nikolais. Small world! - Brian Brandt > Back to top What do you get with the Benefactor's Balcony Ticket? See both Early and Late Shows in the comfort and good acoustics of the Abrons' balcony. You will receive a complimentary "Mode 25-Years" T-shirt or single CD or DVD of your choice, wine and refreshments, and have the opportunity to meet some of the musicians, who may mingle on the balcony between sets. > Back to top The Program As the artists confirm their programs, we will list them here. The order of the Late Show will also be posted as it is developed. Program is subject to change. David Behrman
