Brad Lubman Continuous collaborations with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Radio Kamer Filharmonie as well as with ensembles such as London Sinfonietta and Ensemble Modern Frankfurt include concerts as well as CD recordings. He has recorded for BMG/RCA, Bridge, CRI, Centaur, Koch, New World and Nonesuch. Lubman's own compositions have been performed in the United States and Europe by various prestigious ensembles. His own music has been performed in the USA and Europe, and can be heard on his first portrait CD, insomniac, on Tzadik. Lubman is Music Director of the new music ensemble Signal, founded in 2008 and hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most vital groups of its kind.” With critically-praised performances at the Bang on a Can Marathon, Le Poisson Rouge (NYC), and the Ojai Music Festival, Signal has rapidly become a vital force in the American new music scene. Lubman is Associate Professor of Conducting and Ensembles at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York where he has directed the Musica Nova ensemble since joining the faculty in 1997. He is also on the faculty of the Bang-on-a-Can Summer Institute. |
