Ensemble Dissonanzen Ensemble Dissonanzen is a chamber music group central to the annual concert series organized by Associazione Dissonanzen in Napoli, Italy, which exists to disseminate masterworks of twentieth century music. Since 2002, the Ensemble has combined its functions of performing throughout the region and mounting retrospective programs with a growing activity of creating and exporting original productions. The core members are the flautist Tommaso Rossi, pianist Ciro Longobardi, saxophonist/director/composer Claudio Lugo and guitarist Marco Cappelli. All four trained in classical music but have had experience in a variety of genres (contemporary music, early music, avantgarde jazz, improvisation, electronic music), performing for important concert institutions both in Italy and abroad. Other instrumentalists with a similar background congregate around this core as the occasion arises, as do guest artists. Michel Godard, Linda Bsirì, Cristina Zavalloni, Enrico Baiano, the duo Markus Stockhausen/Tara Bouman, Jim Pugliese, Stefano Scodanibbio, Marc Ribot, and Alvin Curran have all been invited to create - and take part in alongside the Ensemble - ground-breaking projects.
