Roberto FABBRICIANI is an innovator of flute techniques developed through personal research of the flute’s sonorous possibilities. He has collaborated with some of the major composers of our time: Berio, Cage, Clementi, Dallapiccola, de Pablo, Donatoni, Ferneyhough, Françaix, Krenek, Kurtág, Ligeti, Messiaen, Morricone, Nono, Petrassi, Pousseur, Rihm, Rota, Scelsi, Schnebel, Sciarrino, Stockhausen, Takemitsu, Yun â��performing their premiers, many of which were dedicated to Fabbriciani. He worked for many years with Luigi Nono in the experimental studio of the SWF in Freiberg, blazing new and unusual trails in music.

Fabbriciani has performed as soloist with conductors including Abbado, Berio, Bour, Chailly, Comissiona, Eötvös, Fedoseyev, Gielen, Halffter, Klee, Jurowsky, Maag, Maderna, Masson, Muti, Peskó, Pons, Sinopoli, Zagrosek and with orchestras including Orchestra della Scala di Milano, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestre della Rai, London Sinfonietta, LSO, RTL Luxembourg, BRTN Brussel, WDR Köln, SWF Baden-Baden, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Bayerischer Rundfunks, Münchener Philharmoniker.

He has performed at prestigious theaters and musical institutions worldwide and has frequently participated in festivals like the Venice Biennale, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna, London, Edinburgh, Paris, Brussels, Granada, Luzern, Warsaw, Salzburg, Wien, Lockenhaus, Donaueschingen, Cologne, Munich, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Tokyo.
