Sandra Joseph

Sandra Joseph actively performs with a wide variety of musical ensembles and genres. She is a freelance percussionist with the Orchestre Symphonique de MontrĂ©al and the Orchestre Metropolitain. She plays with Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble since 2010 and is the narrator in How Great Turtle rebuilt the World, a percussion show for family audiences.  Her interest in theatre had brought her into several projects that integrate chamber music, story, creative movement, singing and dance. In the summer 2009, she took part of the ‘Roots and Rhizomes’ Percussion’s Residency directed by Steven Schick at the Banff Center for the Arts in Canada.

She has appeared in different festivals and venues such as the Cool Drummings International Festival, the Toronto Summer Music Festival, the Musimars Contemporary Music Festival (Montreal) and the MNM festival (Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques).

Sandra Joseph received a Bachelor in Performance from the Conservatoire de musique de MontrĂ©al with Professor Jean-Guy Plante and a Master in Performance from McGill University in the classes of Aiyun Huang and Andrei Malashenko.
