Mode Records - A Record Label Devoted to New Music Trio Dolce

The Trio Dolce was founded in 1986 by Christine Brelowski, Geesche Geddert, and Dorothea Winter. Although the ensemble also performs French and Spanish Medieval music, Italian and English Renaissance music and Baroque trios, it has specialized in contemporary recorder music. In addition to Cage, several other composers have written works for the trio, among them Lothar Lämmer (Pfeif drauf!, 1985), Ivo van Emmerik (Voci eguali, 1986; Renvoi à l'environ, 1993), Ron Ford (Steps, 1990), Floris van Manen, (Langzaam & zacht, 1993), and Walter Zimmermann (Shadows of Cold Mountain I, 1993). The trio's contemporary repertoire also includes works by Louis Andriessen, Luciano Berio, Jeff Hamburg, Paul Hindemith, Margriet Hoenderdos, Bruno Maderna, Kazimierz Serocki, Makoto Shinohara, Ernstalbrecht Stiebler, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Igor Stravinsky, and Christian Wolff.
